Evanston Ecumenical Action Council (EEAC) Vision Keeper 2002
Reverend Walter R. Bauldrick, Sr.
Home

The Board of Stewards of Bethel AME Church is delighted to nominate our pastor as the 2003 Vision Keeper. This journey began with the assigning of Reverend Bauldrick to Bethel Church October 5, 1986. He brought with him enthusiasm to spread the good news of Jesus Christ and a vision of what God will do for those who place their trust in Him. With Reverend Bauldrick's leadership, Bethel once again climbed to higher heights. The Bethel congregation has increased significantly. Youth participation has expanded and an ever-present spirit continues to move vigorously through the congregation. Every organization has observed significant growth in membership. The Bethel family has learned to live by II Corinthians 5:7 (RSV) for we walk by faith, not by sight. With Reverend Bauldrick's leadership and guidance, the church family has prospered in the grace and glory of God. We have reached new pinnacles spiritually and physically. Several new ministries have been established and our most recent activity is the Senior Drop-in Center, open each Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Reverend Bauldrick has kept us busy! In 1993 the congregation completed nearly a half million-dollar renovation of the church. Two properties adjacent to the church were acquired in 1994 (the house once used for worship services) and in 1996. In 2002 the church completed a $625,000 multipurpose wing. Along with the acquisitions and expansions, the church has maintained its focus of serving the community and fostering programs to support and build up the spiritual well being of humankind. The church and Reverend Bauldrick are active participants in the city of Evanston. Today Bethel stands as a witness to what God will do - I Corinthians 3:6 (KJV) I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
Reverend Bauldrick is involved in several religious and civic organizations. He is a member of the Chicago Alliance of A.M.E. Ministers, the A.M.E. Board of Examiners of the Chicago Conference, the Evanston Ministerial Alliance, the Evanston Ecumenical Action Council, and the DuPage County Branch of the NAACP. He is a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and in 2000, the fraternity identified him as an outstanding contributor with a written article in the historical 85th edition of the Sphinx Magazine. He currently serves as chairman of the Mu Mu Lambda Foundation and a board member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Education Foundation representing the Midwest Region. In 1984, he was selected to Who's Who In America.
Rev. Bauldrick is married to Mrs. Patricia White Bauldrick, and they are the proud parents of three adult children, Walter Jr., Shani, and Rahmad.
