Fannie Ellison Women’s Missionary Society

This is the local arm of the connectional women’s missionary society as established in the Doctrine and Discipline of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The local society’s mission and activities adhere to that of the connectional society as interpreted at the various levels of the organization.

Mission Statement

We are called to strengthen our faith and sent to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ by service and witness in the world.

Purpose

The purpose of the local society is to execute the ministry of missions in the local church and surrounding communities. It is dedicated to the service of feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned and promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ. Following the thematic programming of the connectional society and the Episcopal leadership the Fannie Ellison Women’s Missionary Society maintains a full calendar of activities throughout the conference year.

Membership is open to all women of the church except itinerant elders. Women who are itinerant elder and men in good standing in the church are eligible for associate membership.

The Fannie Ellison WMS meets regularly on the Saturday before the 4th Sunday of each month. The meeting begins promptly at 11:00 A.M. For additional information call the church office or send a message to Violet Johnson, President via the contact us page.
